Don Bosco Tech Society not only trains its students to be employable but also to be an entrepreneur. Keeping this motive in mind Don Bosco Tech Society, Hassan organized a guest lecture for the Retail Sales trainees on July 17, 2019. During the session the topics discussed were ‘social media marketing’, ‘sales funnel’, ‘retail sales strategies’, among other things.
Mr. Jaipal (Manager, Trends, Hassan) was invited to brief the trainees. Mr. Ranjan (Trainer, Retail Marketing) who arranged and invited the resource person, introduced him to the trainees.
Mr. Jaipal gave brief information about the topic and he began the session by explaining the concept of entrepreneurship and how the people venture into this field. Then, he highlighted the intricacies of the retail strategies used by Trends. He said, “The target market for all their verticals were middle-aged consumers and pricing of products was based on the target market. The company actively engages in social media marketing”. He added, “The company follows the concept of the sales funnel.” This means he continued, “They target a hundred potential customers. And he went to explain ‘If there are 10 buyers. Of these 10, only one will purchase the product.
Having said that the resource person went to boost the morale of the candidates by showing the opportunities wait for them in the Retail sector. He listed the types of jobs like the Sales Associate, Cashier, Customer Service Representative, Visual Merchandiser, Store Manager and Inventory control specialist, etc.
Trainees actively interacted with Mr. Jaipal and were interested to know more about different types of products and jobs. The informative session was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Shailja (Trainer, CE & ITES).
