The first Guest Lecture on Retail Marketing, for Sales Associate Trainee

Don Bosco Tech Society (Hassan) did conduct a guest lecture on ‘Strategies on Retail Marketing’ for the Sales Associate trainees on February 8, 2020. Mr. Chandru (HR, Himath Singka Company, Hassan), was invited as a resource person for the day.
As the session kick-started Mr. Ranjan (Trainer, Retail Sales) welcomed the resource person and introduced him to the trainees. Mr. Chadru started the session with a briefing on retail marketing. He briefed them in a nutshell about marketing as he started the basics of Retail Sales. He discussed marketing types, he mentioned as; ‘telemarketing, digital marketing, direct marketing, and indirect marketing’. He also discussed the differences between ‘a customer and sales associates’. Communication skills he said, “As a foundational to deal with the customers.”
Thereby he explained the concept of ‘entrepreneurship’ and said, “A person entering into this field should not expect much profit for two years.” As he shared some job roles of a sales and marketing trainees, he also added, the certificate courses available for them to obtain an edge over others. Raised questions and doubts about how to make a successful career in this field, was a visible sign of trainees’ active participation.
As a closure, Mr. Chandra highlighted to the trainees about the intricacies of retail strategies used by the Himath Singka Company.
He thus mentioned about how he was pleased to have interacted with the young trainees, preparing to soon enter into the job market. The trainers and the trainees expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the guest for visiting the center and sharing his brilliant ideas with the trainees.
