In continued pursuit of excellence under the Web Developer Training Programme of Don Bosco Tech Society, an industrial exposure visit was organized on 13 February 2025 to Mpokket, a leading name in the financial technology sector. The visit was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the dynamic realities of the digital industry, offering trainees a first-hand experience of how professional web development environments function.
At Don Bosco Tech Society, skill development goes beyond textbooks and coding exercises. The objective is to nurture industry-ready professionals equipped with both technical competence and professional discipline. This visit stood as a testament to that commitment, transforming theoretical knowledge into meaningful, real-world insight.
The primary objective of the industrial exposure was to help trainees understand how live web applications are developed, managed, and deployed within a corporate structure. The programme aimed to provide exposure to real-time workflows, introduce modern development practices, and highlight the importance of collaboration, communication, and strategic planning in a professional setup. Trainees were also expected to observe how front-end and back-end technologies integrate seamlessly to create secure, efficient digital solutions.
The visit was attended by 11 trainees from Web Developer Batch B6 (250213), accompanied by their trainer, Ms. Mou Biswas. Having already completed foundational training in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with sessions on coding ethics and professional conduct, the trainees were well-prepared to meaningfully engage with the industry environment they were about to explore.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Shibunath Das, HR representative at Mpokket, who delivered an insightful introduction to the organization’s journey, vision, and technological landscape. He elaborated on how Mpokket leverages modern web technologies to build secure and scalable fintech solutions, serving a wide and diverse user base.
An overview of key departments—including software development, quality assurance, and technical support—helped trainees appreciate the collaborative ecosystem that powers a successful tech company. They observed how cross-functional teams coordinate their expertise to ensure that every product delivered meets quality standards and client expectations.
One of the most engaging segments of the visit was the guided walkthrough of the UI/UX design unit, development floor, and testing section. Trainees witnessed live coding demonstrations using professional IDEs and gained exposure to systematic testing processes. The discussion on SCRUM methodology, sprint planning, and project scheduling revealed how structured frameworks drive productivity and accountability in tech environments.
The introduction to tools such as GitHub, collaboration boards, and task management platforms offered practical insight into version control, team coordination, and workflow transparency. For many trainees, this was the first time they saw how classroom concepts like deployment, debugging, and code reviews operate in real-time professional settings.
Interactive sessions with junior developers and designers added a deeply inspiring dimension to the visit. Listening to professionals who had once been learners themselves made the journey from training to employment feel tangible and achievable. Conversations centered on technical discipline, continuous learning, adaptability, and the importance of building a strong foundational skill set.
The visit significantly deepened the trainees’ understanding of the web development lifecycle—from requirement analysis and interface design to development, testing, and final deployment. Beyond technical knowledge, they gained valuable insight into corporate culture, punctuality, work ethics, and the power of teamwork.
Reflecting on the experience, trainee Dip Sarkar shared, “We observed how different responsibilities are distributed among team members. It made us realize how teamwork turns ideas into real projects.”
Ena Paul expressed renewed determination, stating, “This visit inspired me to work harder on my coding skills. I now aspire to build a career in a professional tech company like Mpokket.”
Such reflections demonstrate not only enhanced technical awareness but also increased confidence and clarity regarding career aspirations. The exposure ignited ambition, strengthened professional outlooks, and reinforced the importance of dedication and perseverance.
The industrial visit to Mpokket on 13 February 2025 was more than a field trip—it was a transformative learning experience. It brought the digital ecosystem to life, showing trainees how innovation, discipline, and collaboration converge to create impactful technological solutions.
For Don Bosco Tech Society, initiatives like this reaffirm the mission of empowering youth through skill, exposure, and opportunity. By integrating practical industry experiences with structured training, the institution continues to shape resilient, capable, and future-ready professionals prepared to thrive in the evolving world of web and digital technology.
The experience left a lasting imprint on every participant, not only enhancing their technical perspective but also strengthening their belief that with the right guidance, effort, and exposure, their aspirations are well within reach.
