A field visit was arranged for the Food & Beverage Service trainees of Don Bosco Tech, Berhampore on October 12, 2019. This inspiring and motivational field visit was organized for the Phase 10 Batch, 1 student.

Hotel Sunshine is a renowned three-Star property in Berhampore, Murshidabad (West Bengal). The ambience is wonderful with good exposure to all the trainees. Altogether 22 students attended the field visit.

Students were very enthusiastic to learn from this experience. They began their learning from the basics of room service. Besides that, there was a kitchen as mentioned by the guide. Students got to know about the ambience of the kitchen. Then they got to see the bar cum restaurant area where they learnt about them and their seemingly obvious differences along with table setup. The student got the opportunity to check on Banquet Halls and got to know about the type of table set up and menu. They also checked about the Front office desk and evaluated everything.

Mr Arijit (General Manager) conducted an interactive session with the students to know student’s intake from the theory and practical session. He along with few other staffs demonstrated the table set up and kitchen apparatus.

After the brief tour, Mr Arijit had another session with the students where he shared the successful journey of Hotel Sunshine and how and why it's rated as three-Star. He also shared information about the efforts that are now being carried out to convert this hotel to a four-star rating hotel.  He also conveyed that few former students from Don Bosco Tech, Berhampore are presently working in that hotel and they were also glad to have the company of current students. They had also got the opportunity to share the work experience with present Batch Trainees.

It was overall a great learning and collaborative experience leading to various career aspirations for the students.
