On August 29, 2022, Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur organized an insightful and enriching exposure visit to Print Bazzar, located near Pattnayak Pada, Sambalpur, Odisha. This visit aimed to enhance the professional ethics and knowledge of its Graphic Design trainees. The group was led by Mr. Anjan Pattnaik (Domain Trainer) and Mr. Sarada Prasad Nanda (Centre Coordinator), who accompanied the enthusiastic trainees.
Upon their arrival, the trainees were warmly welcomed by Mr. Nihar Ranjan Mishra, the proprietor of Print Bazzar. Mr. Mishra provided a comprehensive overview of the graphic product production processes and demonstrated the intricate activities involved. He introduced the trainees to various production methods, showcasing techniques for producing graphic products in hard copy through diverse printing methods.
The trainees gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of several critical types of design printing, including flex printing, banner printing, card printing, and bill book printing. They also explored the processes of printing on hard materials such as sun boards, hard plastic, tin panels, and steel panels. Mr. Mishra shared valuable insights into starting a career in graphic design, emphasizing the importance of learning design principles, mastering graphic design tools, working on projects, and building a robust portfolio.
The interactive session saw trainees eagerly asking questions to clear their doubts, and Mr. Mishra answered them with enthusiasm. The trainees unanimously found the trip to be highly informative and educational, echoing the sentiment that "seeing and knowing" is indeed better than "reading and learning." This visit allowed them to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, offering a tangible feel of the graphic design profession.
Expressing their gratitude, Mr. Sarada, Mr. Anjan, and the trainees of Don Bosco Tech thanked Mr. Nihar Ranjan Mishra for his generous cooperation, permission, and support, which were instrumental in making the visit a resounding success. The trainees left with newfound knowledge, a wealth of practical experience, and a sense of gratitude towards Don Bosco Tech for organizing such a beneficial field trip.
