The Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur center successfully hosted its first guest lecture for the Mushroom Grower job role on October 21, 2022. This enlightening session, focusing on "Types of Mushrooms and Their Cultivation Processes," was attended by the enthusiastic trainees of batch 6 of Accenture-12. The esteemed guest lecturer, Mr. Micky Bag from Royal Mushroom Farm, shared his invaluable expertise on mushroom cultivation.

The session began with a warm welcome from the domain trainer, Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera, who introduced Mr. Bag to the eager trainees. 

Mr. Bag captivated the audience with an in-depth overview of various types of mushrooms and the intricacies of their cultivation. He meticulously explained the different stages involved in mushroom farming, including spawn preparation, substrate preparation, spawning, incubation, fruiting, and harvesting. His detailed explanations transformed complex processes into understandable and actionable steps for the trainees.

Moreover, Mr. Bag highlighted the economic advantages of mushroom farming, particularly for small-scale operations. He provided a clear breakdown of the production costs and outlined how trainees could start their own mushroom farms at home. Emphasizing the importance of self-employment, Mr. Bag discussed the significant societal and familial benefits of pursuing a livelihood in mushroom cultivation.

In the latter part of the session, Mr. Bag shared practical tips on preventing spillage during production, ensuring that the trainees were well-equipped to manage common challenges. The trainees' enthusiasm was palpable, as they actively participated and posed numerous questions about career opportunities in mushroom cultivation.

Impressed by the trainees' curiosity and engagement, Mr. Bag concluded the session by addressing their queries and discussing the vast potential for self-employment in this field. He emphasized how becoming a mushroom grower could lead to a sustainable and rewarding career.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the center coordinator, Mr. Sarada Prasad Nanda, who expressed deep appreciation for Mr. Bag's time and effort in enriching the trainees' knowledge.
