Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur Center achieved another milestone with the successful organization of the first guest lecturer session for the Mushroom Grower job role. This enlightening event took place on August 26, 2023, and was specifically designed for the trainees of Batch – 03 of Accenture 2023-24. The esteemed guest lecturer for this occasion was Ms. Laxmi Priya from Priya Mushroom Farm.

The guest lecture commenced with a warm welcome from the domain trainer, Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera. He introduced and extended a hearty welcome to Ms. Laxmi Priya, setting the stage for an insightful session.

Ms. Laxmi Priya began by imparting theoretical knowledge on various mushroom cultivation methods and elucidated the intricate procedure involved in mushroom spawn production. Her expertise shone as she conducted a live demonstration of the spawn production process in the mushroom lab. She accompanied this with a captivating presentation that covered every facet of mushroom cultivation. Her demonstration of bagging techniques for mushroom cultivation was particularly enlightening. Following this, all participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in bed preparation and bagging for mushroom cultivation. She also delved into the nuances of fruiting and harvesting mushrooms. Notably, Ms. Priya highlighted the influence of climate and environmental factors on mushroom cultivation, especially in our region.

In her address to the trainees, Ms. Laxmi Priya touched upon the socio-economic implications of mushroom cultivation, emphasizing its potential to generate employment for rural youth in their own backyards. She also shared insights on the financial assistance available from banks and briefly explained the steps involved in securing loans from different banks for mushroom cultivation.

The latter part of the session featured a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) segment. Trainees raised pertinent questions, and Ms. Laxmi Priya provided comprehensive answers, enriching the knowledge of all attendees. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to Ms. Priya by Mr. Sarat Chandra Dash, expressing appreciation for her valuable time and the invaluable knowledge she shared with the trainees.
