On October 15, 2025, students of Don Bosco Tech Society embarked on an enlightening industrial exposure visit to Croma Store, Indiranagar, as part of their retail training program. The visit offered students a rare opportunity to step beyond the classroom and witness firsthand the dynamic world of modern retail operations.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with real-time exposure to how a large-scale retail outlet functions—covering store management, customer engagement, sales operations, and service delivery. It also aimed to help students understand the various departments that make up a retail ecosystem, and how each contributes to the overall shopping experience.

The day began with a warm welcome from the Croma team, followed by an interactive session with the store’s HR representative. The discussion proved to be both informative and inspiring. Students learned about the diverse career opportunities available within the retail industry, along with insights into career growth, required skill sets, and the qualities that make a successful retail professional. Emphasis was placed on communication skills, teamwork, and in-depth product knowledge—three pillars of excellence in the retail sector.

A guided walkthrough of the store followed, where students explored different sections and gained practical understanding of their functions. In the Mobiles and Accessories section, they observed how sales staff engage customers, highlight product features, and assist in comparisons. The Laptops and IT zone offered a glimpse into how technical specifications are explained in customer-friendly terms, while the Home Appliances section demonstrated the importance of attractive product displays and live demonstrations in influencing purchase decisions.

At the Billing and Customer Service counters, students observed the precision and efficiency required to manage transactions and address customer concerns, gaining insights into how technology and interpersonal skills merge to create a seamless shopping experience.

The visit concluded with valuable takeaways for students planning similar learning experiences. They were encouraged to keenly observe staff-customer interactions, analyze product placements, and inquire about sales techniques and service standards during future visits.

The Croma Indiranagar visit was more than just an industrial exposure—it was a window into the pulse of the retail world. The experience left students motivated, informed, and ready to envision a promising career path in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy.
