  1. Introduction

As part of the curriculum at Don Bosco Yuva Jyoti, an industrial field visit was organized to Hotel Royal Bishnu. The primary objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between classroom theoretical knowledge and real-world industry operations. For students aspiring to build a career in the hospitality sector, this visit provided a practical understanding of hotel operations, guest relations, and management standards.

  1. Objectives of the Visit
  • To understand the live operations of various core departments in a hotel.
  • To observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for guest handling and service.
  • To interact with industry professionals and gain insights into career expectations in the hotel industry.
  • To analyse the coordination required between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  1. Detailed Observations by Department

During the guided tour of Hotel Royal Bishnu, HR guided us where the trainees observed the operations of several key departments:

A. Front Office Department

The Front Office team demonstrated the guest check-in and check-out procedures. Students observed the handling of reservation queries, the management of the property management system (PMS), and the overall layout of the lobby area designed to welcome guests

They also observed the excellent communication skills, grooming standards, and first impressions in guest satisfaction.

B. Housekeeping Department

The trainees were shown different categories of guest rooms (e.g., Deluxe, Suite). The housekeeping staff explained the room-cleaning checklist, linen management, and the arrangement of guest amenities.

C. Food & Beverage (F&B) Service

The visit included a tour of the dining areas and restaurants within the hotel. The staff showcased table setups, cutlery arrangements, and explained the coordination between the service staff and the kitchen.

D. Food Production (Kitchen)

Students were not allowed a walkthrough of the main kitchen area. But The chefs explained inventory management, food safety regulations, and the workflow of preparing meals efficiently under pressure.

  1. Conclusion

The industrial visit was highly successful and met all its intended objectives. It provided the trainees with invaluable practical exposure that will enhance their learning back at the institute.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Hotel Royal Bishnu for their warm hospitality, patience, and insightful guidance during the tour. At the end of the day, they had prepared some delicious snacks for us. And with this we completed our industrial exposure visit.
