On 14 June 2025, students of Don Bosco Tech, Hospet, embarked on an insightful exposure visit to First Focus Solutions Ltd., a leading BPO company located in Hospet. The visit was organized by the Don Bosco Tech IT/CCE and Digital Mithra departments and accompanied by trainers Ms. Lakshmi, Miss Sandya, Mr. Jayaraj, along with Centre Head, Fr. Arun. The initiative was designed to bridge academic learning with real workplace expectations, enabling students to gain firsthand experience of professional challenges and opportunities.

The primary objective of the visit was to immerse students in a real corporate environment where they could understand the work culture, hiring expectations, and the professional competencies required to succeed in today’s competitive job market. The session was led by HR professional Ms. Zareena, whose interaction proved both engaging and transformative for the students.

During the corporate briefing, Ms. Zareena introduced students to the disciplined and fast-paced nature of the BPO industry. She emphasized that employees are often required to work beyond conventional schedules, including holidays and festivals, signifying the level of dedication expected in high-performance work environments. Students were encouraged to cultivate professionalism, self-discipline, and a mature understanding of workplace commitments.

A major portion of the session focused on career readiness and employability skills. Communication emerged as a key competency, not just in terms of language, but also in tone, clarity, articulation, and the ability to present thoughts confidently. The HR speaker commented on the importance of typing proficiency, analytical thinking, and accuracy, especially for students aspiring to enter IT and digital service lines. Additionally, students were introduced to the subtle yet powerful elements of professional presentation—such as grooming, body language, eye contact, posture, and polite interaction—critical factors that can influence interview outcomes.

Ms. Zareena offered practical interview strategies and encouraged learners to identify their career goals early. While academic scores have value, she highlighted that employers increasingly seek individuals with real-world understanding, confidence, logical reasoning, and a willingness to learn. Students were motivated to start small, take up part-time opportunities if possible, and gradually build their professional identity and maturity.

The session left a positive impact on the participants, who expressed that the visit had expanded their outlook on career planning. Many felt that they gained clarity about interview preparation and learned how communication, confidence, grooming, and discipline directly influence professional success. Several students shared that the experience was far beyond traditional classroom teaching and helped them reflect on their future aspirations with renewed seriousness and motivation.

The exposure visit to First Focus Solutions Ltd. proved to be a highly meaningful and practical learning experience. Thanks to the efforts of the training team and the guidance of Fr. Arun, students returned with enhanced confidence, stronger self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of the expectations of employers in the modern workplace. This initiative stands as a testament to Don Bosco Tech’s commitment to shaping industry-ready young professionals who are prepared to meet the realities of the job market with competence and character.
