Don Bosco Tech (Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh) organised zero plastic rallies with the great support of ITC. The staff and trainees of Don Bosco Tech (Nalagarh) led seven rallies on different dates which ended on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti i.e. October 2, 2019. The purpose of the rally was to make people aware of the harmful effects of plastic as it is very harmful to humans and to animals as well.

The rally was conducted on different dates and on different places such as Kirpalpur Village, Abhipur Village, Government Primary School, Katha (Baddi), Chokiwala Village, Makhnumajra Primary School (Baddi) and Rajpura Village.

Many dignitaries also participated in the rally. Ms. Manpreet Kaur (Cluster Co-ordinator, Punjab & Himachal Pradesh, Don Bosco Tech) and Ms. Lipika (Programme Manager, ITC) were present at the rally to lead the initiative. Mr. Lal Chand Thakur and Ms. Sonia Rani also interacted with the students and told them about the harmful effects of plastic. Students from Government Primary School Katha (Baddi) and Makhnumajra Primary School (Baddi) also joined the trainees in the rally and performed Nukkad Natak to create awareness among the people.

Overall it was a successful event with the great support of ITC for making the people aware of the usage and misuse and the harmful effects of the plastic. We hope that we spread the message in the form of rallies. It is high time for the youth to join the movement against the single-use plastic as it was causing massive damage to the ecology and environment.
