Don Bosco Tech Society (Nalagarh) made it a point to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 07, 2020, to pen down its significance.

While the trainees were seated in one place Mr. Sunil Kumar (Center Coordinator) welcomed them all. He then introduced the theme of this year’s IWD’s i.e. #EachForEqual. “There should be a balance between career and family. Without the family’s support women can’t achieve success,” said Mr. Sunil. Addressing the girls he said, “You must know your rights and privileges. And more importantly, to know to defend.” He warned them ‘to be aware of crime against women’. Further, he said, “Gender equality is intricacy for a healthy society.” He added, “It is time to recognize women's achievements, its challenges and thus focus on women's rights and gender equality to the best of their ability.

Alumni of Nalagarh was called to share their achievements so that they can become the epitome of inspiring for the other girls, looking forward to a better future. Ms. Nisha (Alumni) working as a data entry operator at Gurukul Institute, shared her success story. Ms. Damini, another alumnus working in an ‘Idea’ store, said, “I hail from a very poor family. My father is the sole bread-winner of the family with bare minimum income of hand to mouth. I was trained here and working today. Not much, but able to contribute to my parents’ income.” Ms. Neha, the other alumni said, “My fate is not different from Damini, who you heard a while ago. I too belong to a poor family of four siblings. My father is a cultivator. Working as a ‘Data Entry Operator’ I can earn a good salary, quite enough to support my siblings.”

Students participated enthusiastically in chart making competition. Thereby, played musical chair and participated in some fun-based activities. All the girls were happy and refreshed with a sip of tea and snacks.
