Don Bosco Tech- Karunapuram Trainees were very glad to participate in exposure field visit again to get the extra practical knowledge and to observe the Food and Beverage Sections once again on October 31, 2019. The exposure visit was organized for Trainees of Hospitality to Hotel called Grand Vaishnavi, located in Fathimanagar with the help of concern person Mr. Ravikumar (manager of Hotel Grand Vaishnavi).

Mr. Ravi Kumar permitted us wholeheartedly to visit the hotel Grand Vaishnavi. First, he explained the meaning of the Hotel and said: "Hotel means providing establishment and providing accommodation, food and other services for traveler and tourist by paying for money". Then he explained the departments of the Hotel. He took the Trainees to the front desk department and explained regarding the front office and its importance in the hotel, where the people want to stay for a short time or a long time.

Also, he explained about steward, "Steward is an employee in the hotel who is in charge of management is who is responsible for the food and beverage services in the hotel. The hotel rating fully depends upon the service department, so the service department has a big role in the rating of a Hotel.

Trainees entered into the banquet halls and minibars also there was a small refrigerator in the hotel room that is stocked with especially beverages and snacks for the guest. The event moved on to the most important thing called grooming in Food and Beverage Services - Steward. Grooming is a very important aspect of appearance. The uniform should be spotless and ironed and nails should be absolutely clean and well-manicured. And steward should not bend his wings and arms. The steward should have the politeness always.

He also explained and showed the power supply. The whole Hotel has a Generator facility and separation of the Departmental Power Supply and including Fire Exit Stairs. Finally, Trainees had the experience to experience practical knowledge with good communication of Manager.

Trainees got a full practical idea of their respected domain. They were very happy to hear the deep explanation about each and every department having in the Hotel or restaurant till the end of our Field visit and expressed gratitude to Mr. Ravi Kumar.
