04 Mar 2020
To impart Industrial knowledge and awareness about Workplace Readiness the Don Bosco Skill Mission had arranged a Guest Lecture Programme for the trainees. The event was conducted on 4 March 2020. Fr. Joseph Elavanal (The director of Don Bosco Skill Mission) has invited Dr. Samarendra Narayanan (Lt. Col. Retd.) resource person for the day. The session started with the trainee's self-introduction and about their ambitions. The presenter who himself was a source of motivation to trainees gave encouraging examples from his own life and inspired trainees to be self-motivator. He discussed the importance of positive thinking and attitude which brings optimism into life and constructive changes that can make one’s life brighter and more successful.
As the session started the trainees were asked to do a few activities on topics like ‘Facing Workplace challenges with confidence’ and ‘coping with the new environment, new colleagues, new cultures. The sessions continued with many more interesting topics like Handling Workplace Conflicts, Communication, Enthusiasm and Attitude, Teamwork, Problem Solving & Critical Thinking, Professionalism, etc.
Thus the Guest Lecture program helped the trainees to improve their learning in a more interactive, topic-specific way. The lecture was received with admiration by the trainees and they also found the slide appropriate. The program helped the trainees to be guided by a positive mind and driven by self-motivation to face the industrial world outside. The event ended with an honorarium to the guest and a vote of thanks.
