20 Dec 2024
On January 6th, 2025, the festive spirit and warmth of the season filled the air as the team at dbTech Yadgiri came together to celebrate both the joyous occasion of Christmas and the welcome party of DDEO. This memorable event provided an opportunity for deep reflection, cultural appreciation, and a sense of community for all who attended.
The program commenced with anchoring by Mallikarjun Sir, setting a lively tone for the celebration. Sharanappa Sir delivered a thoughtful and heartfelt welcome speech, sharing the significance of Christmas and its universal message of peace, love, and goodwill. Following this, the soulful prayer song, sung by Pratibha and Dayana, enveloped the room in a serene atmosphere, drawing everyone closer to the spirit of the occasion.
A key highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of the Christmas crib. Fr. Saji George, the Rector and Manager of DB Yadgiri, led this meaningful moment by cutting the ribbon, officially unveiling the beautifully crafted crib. This symbolized not just the birth of Jesus Christ but also the spirit of togetherness that binds the community. All the students, together with the staff, joined in unison for the prayer song that followed, creating a shared sense of reverence and joy.
Sharanappa Sir then took the stage to delve into a deeper understanding of the Christmas tradition. His insightful speech explored the history behind the creation of the Christmas crib and its connection to the birth of Jesus Christ, prompting several thoughtful questions from the attendees, which further enriched the conversation. The session fostered an atmosphere of learning, where everyone could reflect on the deeper meaning of the holiday.
The event continued with an inspiring inaugural speech by Fr. Shabu Francis, the Centre Head, who shared an overview of the ongoing training batches and the achievements of the past trainees. He emphasized the importance of the skills and values instilled through the program, motivating the current batch to aspire for success and personal growth. He also highlighted the fruitful placement initiatives, which have opened doors for trainees to transition into the workforce confidently.
To symbolize the beginning of their journey at dbTech Yadgiri, kits were distributed to the trainees, marking the inauguration with a tangible connection to their future endeavors. This gesture also helped to reinforce the sense of belonging and support within the community.
The Christmas celebration was further enriched by Fr. Saji George’s talk, where he shared the essence of the holiday, deepening everyone’s understanding of its spiritual significance. This was followed by cultural performances from the trainees, with the girls and boys showcasing their creativity and talent, bringing the celebration to life through dance, music, and festive cheer.
A highly anticipated moment was the gift exchange session, a heartwarming tradition in which trainees had prepared gifts for their designated Christmas friends. The event had started with the drawing of names on December 3rd, followed by thoughtful prayers for each other. The exchange of gifts brought smiles and excitement, reinforcing the sense of friendship, generosity, and love that defines Christmas.
To round off the celebration, everyone enjoyed a light refreshment, with cake and tea shared amongst all, further promoting the spirit of unity and togetherness. For many of the trainees, this was their first experience of a Christmas celebration, and their excitement and joy were evident throughout the day.
This event was more than just a celebration—it was an enriching experience that allowed everyone to learn, connect, and grow in meaningful ways. It provided an opportunity for reflection on the deeper values of Christmas while also fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose among all those who attended. For many, it marked the beginning of a new chapter not only in their professional journey but also in their personal understanding of the world around them.
