On 29 November, the Don Bosco campus in Yadgir came alive with enthusiasm and youthful energy as the IT CCE trainees organized a warm and inspiring welcome programme for the new batch of Digital Mitra students. The programme commenced at 11:35 a.m., setting the tone for a meaningful journey of learning, growth, and digital empowerment.

The Digital Mitra trainees were received with great warmth and hospitality, symbolized by a floral welcome that instantly made them feel at home. The event was gracefully anchored by Anand and Ashwini from the IT CCE batch, whose confident hosting kept the programme lively and engaging. The gathering began on a serene note with a soulful prayer song rendered by Manjula and her team, invoking blessings for the new academic journey ahead. This was followed by a thoughtful welcome address delivered by Sangamesh, IT CCE trainee, who expressed joy in receiving the new batch and emphasized the spirit of learning and collaboration at Don Bosco Tech.

The programme was honoured by the presence of esteemed dignitaries: Fr. Saji George, Rector and Manager of Don Bosco Yadgir; Fr. Vivek Devikanth, Principal of Don Bosco PU College; Fr. Jilson Jose, Principal of Don Bosco School Yadgir; and Centre Head Fr. Francis Shabu, along with DB Tech and DBCSA staff members. Each dignitary was respectfully welcomed with flowers, after which the ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration of the event, symbolizing knowledge, hope, and new beginnings.

Mr. Mallikarjun Kurkundi, Field Officer, delivered the introductory address, reflecting on the journey and achievements of the centre. He proudly highlighted the successful completion of two IT CCE batches and two Digital Mitra batches, underlining the core objective of the training programmes—to equip young people with relevant skills and prepare them for meaningful employment opportunities in the digital world.

Addressing the trainees, Fr. Saji George warmly welcomed them and shared a profound thought of Basavanna, “Kalita jnanavu balasadisdare shoonya,” reminding students that knowledge holds value only when it is applied. His words encouraged the trainees to use their learning wisely and responsibly. Fr. Vivek Devikanth followed with an inspiring narration from the life of Michelangelo, drawing attention to the power of self-transformation and the importance of consciously shaping one’s own future. Adding to this, Fr. Jilson Jose spoke on the importance of personality development, appreciating how structured training programmes help young people grow not just professionally, but personally as well.

Centre Head Fr. Francis Shabu expressed his deep happiness at witnessing the steady growth and progress of the trainees. He commended the IT CCE batch for organizing the programme with remarkable discipline and time management, attributing this quality to the values and spirit of Don Bosco. He shared encouraging milestones of the centre, noting that five batches have been successfully completed with 56 students placed, including one trainee earning a monthly salary of ?48,000. He concluded his address by motivating everyone to embrace digital growth and move forward with confidence and determination.

The programme was further enlivened by a vibrant group dance performed by the IT CCE trainees, showcasing their creativity and team spirit. This was followed by a heartfelt and expressive shayari presented by Kulsum from the IT CCE batch, which resonated deeply with the audience. The event drew to a graceful close with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Summayya, IT CCE trainee, acknowledging the support and presence of everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.

The welcome programme concluded with a group photo session, capturing smiles, aspirations, and the promise of a new beginning. The event not only welcomed a new batch of Digital Mitra trainees but also reaffirmed Don Bosco Tech Society’s commitment to empowering youth through skill-based education, values, and opportunities for a brighter future.
