On 24th September, the trainees of Don Bosco Tech Yadgir embarked on an enriching and memorable educational excursion, blending learning with recreation. The group, accompanied by trainers, staff of DBCSA, and our centre head Fr. Francis Shabu, departed from the centre promptly at 10:00 AM, eager for a day of exploration and discovery.
Our first stop was Kanaganahalli, near Sanathi, where we explored the historic Adholoka Maha Chaitya. This remarkable stupa, dating back to the Mauryan dynasty, was constructed during the reign of Emperor Ashoka. Trainees were fascinated by the intricate carvings and monuments that vividly depicted events from Ashoka’s reign, offering a rare glimpse into the region’s ancient heritage and the remarkable architectural prowess of that era. The visit sparked curiosity and provided a profound understanding of India’s rich cultural and historical legacy.
Next, the group visited Sanathi Dam, where the serene surroundings offered a perfect setting to relax and connect with nature. The calm waters and scenic vistas created an atmosphere of peace, allowing the trainees to rejuvenate before continuing their journey.
The final destination was Chandralab Temple, situated along the banks of the Bheema River. Here, all the trainees had the opportunity to seek blessings and immerse themselves in the spiritual ambiance of the temple. The riverside setting added a tranquil charm, creating memorable moments of reflection and bonding. Lunch was shared together near the temple, fostering camaraderie and joyful conversations among the trainees.
The afternoon was filled with lively games and engaging activities, adding a layer of excitement and fun to the day’s educational experiences. By 2:50 PM, the group departed for the centre, arriving safely by 3:30 PM.
The picnic was not only an enjoyable break from routine but also an inspiring journey into history, culture, and nature. It offered the trainees new knowledge, strengthened friendships, and created lasting memories—a day that truly exemplified the spirit of learning, laughter, and togetherness at Don Bosco Tech Yadgir.
