Inaugural program of Digital Mitra Batch

The Don Bosco Tech Yadgiri campus came alive on the morning of 6th June 2025 as it hosted a vibrant and heartwarming Inaugural Function for the new Digital Mitra batch, coupled with a Welcome Ceremony for the newly arrived Fathers and Brother of the institution. The event was marked by traditional fervor, cultural richness, and a deep sense of community spirit.
A Traditional Welcome with Cultural Grace
The program began promptly at 11:00 AM with a traditional welcome for the new Fathers and Brother. As they arrived at the campus, they were greeted with the rhythmic beats of drums and the showering of flower petals by the trainees – a gesture symbolizing Indian hospitality and respect. This ceremonious procession led all attendees into the program hall, setting the tone for a meaningful gathering.
Program Highlights
The event was anchored by Sk. Aaraf, a trainee from the IT – CCE batch, who skillfully guided the program. It began with a soulful prayer song sung by the girls of the IT – CCE batch, led by Chaitra and her team, invoking divine blessings for the occasion.
Warm Welcome and Inauguration
A heartfelt welcome speech was delivered by Mujeeb, a trainee from the IT – CCE batch, who expressed gratitude to the guests, dignitaries, and fellow trainees. This was followed by the symbolic inauguration ceremony, where all dignitaries joined in watering a plant – a gesture reflecting a green beginning and the nurturing of growth, values deeply cherished at Don Bosco.
Speeches and Acknowledgements
Mr. Mallikarjun S. Kurkundi, addressed the gathering with an overview of DB Tech Yadgiri’s mission, the structure of the Digital Mitra training, and its impact on youth empowerment. He emphasized the transformative potential of skill development programs in rural and semi-urban communities.
The highlight of the morning was the Honouring Ceremony, where Mr. Sharanappa C. Amarapur, Coordinator of MIND’S, ceremonially welcomed the new Fathers and Brother. The traditional honor included the offering of a ceremonial cap, stole, and arathi, which was graciously performed by Ms. Prathibha, Communication English Trainer, and Ms. Prathibha, IT – CCE Trainer.
Formal Introduction of New Community Members
Fr. Saji George, Rector and Manager, formally introduced the new members of the Don Bosco Yadgiri community:

As a part of the training inauguration, training kits were distributed to the Digital Mitra trainees by the honored guests, further encouraging their journey toward skill acquisition.
The cultural segment of the program began with a melodious solo song by Mujeeb, setting a cheerful mood in the hall. This was followed by a vibrant traditional dance performance by the IT CCE girls, showcasing local heritage and grace. The program concluded with a humorous and energetic dance act by the IT CCE boys, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone present.
Presidential Address and Vote of Thanks
The presidential address was delivered by Fr. Francis Shabu, Director and Manager of DBCSA, who emphasized the importance of holistic growth, values-based education, and the role of such events in building community. His encouraging words inspired the trainees to commit themselves fully to the learning journey ahead.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shivaraj, a trainee of the IT – CCE batch, who expressed appreciation to all the dignitaries, trainers, and fellow trainees for making the event a memorable one.
