Don Bosco Tech Punalur arranged an online placement orientation session through the Google Meet application on 12 November 2020 for the current batch Accenture batch phase11 (Retail Management). Mr.Digit Jose, State Finance Coordinator, Mis. Anila Samson State MIS Coordinator, the staff members, and 25 trainees participated in the session. 

The session started at 11 am with a prayer song by our trainee Divya C and our trainee Venu Chandran welcomed the session. Our trainee Nishanthini R addressed everyone and Fr. Stephen Thomas, State Secretary of KCYM, explained the importance of placement orientation. 

The main purpose of placement orientation is to provide a better knowledge of employment for a good career. He started the session with a question about “What is the importance of education” and “What the purpose of education is”. He received positive answers from the trainees. He gave an orientation about employability skills workplace readiness, behavior, attitude, interview, etiquette, etc. He said that Retailing is very different from other industries. The recent growth of the Retail sector has raised specific privacy and data protection. There are some competencies necessary to grow in the Retail sector. Now students are asked tips of interviews, self-introduction, etc. and he described it well. He explained to them to keep active and work well for their future life. Then he started with the first impression that is the best and talked about grooming, documents, experience, communicative skill, knowledge. All these talked with some examples. This session helped to look forward to operation in the Retail Sector. “Challenge yourself with your knowledge to achieve the goal”. 

The trainee Benin Varghese gave the vote of thanks and the session ended by 12.30 pm.
