The day began with a heartfelt prayer led by Miss Diya P. This was just the beginning of an event that would prove to be both enlightening and inspiring.
The inaugural address, delivered by Rev. Fr. Johnson Joseph, Center Head and Director of PSSS, provided the foundation for the day’s discussions. Through an engaging story, Fr. Joseph underscored the value of skill development, not just as a means to secure a livelihood, but as a tool to foster independent thinking, problem-solving abilities, and self-reliance. His message resonated with all in attendance, emphasizing that the true power of learning lies not only in the knowledge imparted but in the ability to think critically and adapt to change.
A series of speeches followed, each one offering a unique perspective on the transformative potential of skill development. Fr. Vineeth Benedict, Assistant Director of PSSS, spoke passionately about the importance of regularity and resource utilization in training. His message extended beyond professional development, touching on societal issues such as gender equality and the empowerment of women, encouraging the trainees to become versatile and multi-skilled individuals—traits highly sought after in the modern job market.
Mr. Sunny V.O., Project Coordinator at Caritas India, further highlighted the holistic approach of Don Bosco Tech in bridging Kerala’s skill gap. He shared how the institution’s initiatives are shaping the youth, not just in technical expertise but in their overall growth as responsible, empowered individuals. His words reminded all present of the value of attendance, placement, and a well-rounded development journey.

Mr. Das David, the E-Commerce Executive Trainer, spoke about the exciting new challenges that the E-Commerce Executive course offers, urging students to embrace the process of learning and to develop a mindset that is open to innovation. Mr. Arun T.K., the Mobilizer, shared his experience of interactive classroom sessions, where technology and hands-on learning go hand in hand, giving students practical tools to navigate the world of e-commerce and beyond.
The heart of the event, however, was the interaction between parents, students, and trainers. The discussions were insightful, revealing the aspirations of the trainees as well as the hopes and concerns of their families. With course details laid out, job opportunities explored, and the realization of the necessity to seek employment beyond local confines, the dialogue emphasized the importance of broadening horizons. The support from the parents and the engagement of the students added an enriching layer to the proceedings, setting the stage for a productive year ahead.
As the event concluded, the trainees took to the stage, showcasing their talents and adding a celebratory spirit to the proceedings. The day’s final remarks, delivered by Mrs. Gracy, expressed gratitude for the parents' support and commitment to their children’s future. The meeting ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Miss Anagha M.S., followed by the National Anthem and an informal gathering over tea and snacks.
