1. Bosco Tech Punalur celebrated the Feast of St. Don Bosco on Jan 31, 2022. The program began with a prayer song by our student Mrs. Veena at 11:00 am. Miss Alfia gave the introductory speech.  There were staff members, 35 students, and their parents took part in it.

Our Centre in charge Fr. Johnson Joseph delivered the residential address and gave an inspiring speech about Don Bosco. Our English trainer Mrs. Gracy Francis presented the welcome address and gave a speech about Don Bosco. Don Bosco was born at a time when people were going through hard times due to poverty and famine. According to Don Bosco, his first dream left a profound impression on him. He left home at age 12 and came across many obstructions and hardships till he got a job.

He looked for jobs for the unemployed youth. He worked for the welfare of the youth and downtrodden. Some of the boys helped by Don Bosco decided to work in the abandoned boys. This was the origin of the Salesian congregation in 1859.

There was a short entertainment program after the talk about Don Bosco and his dreams by the students. Our Centre Co-coordinator Mrs. Geethu Angel Bosco gave a speech about Don Bosco and said our motto is “Serve the Lord” with gladness and our Feast day is the perfect opportunity to see this. We feel it is important to celebrate the Feast of Don Bosco. Mrs. Geethu proposed the Vote of thanks and lastly, we paid tribute to Don Bosco while singing a hymn to him. The celebration came to an end by noon.

“Training can be a challenge for many youngsters, and sometimes it’s difficult to see the point in learning, but it’s important to see the purpose in turning up every day, and where that might lead you. The training was not the end; it was rather the instrumental means for improving the way of life.”
