DB Tech Tree Initiative – 20 Years of DB Tech Celebrations

As part of the DB Tech Tree Initiative – Plant 20 Trees, celebrating 20 Years of Don Bosco Tech, Don Bosco Tech–Sambalpur organised a Tree Plantation Programme on 10 January 2026 at the JMJ Hospital Campus, Sambalpur. The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and community participation, while commemorating two decades of DB Tech’s contribution to skill development and social transformation.

  • To promote environmental responsibility among trainees, staff, and the community
  • To commemorate 20 years of DB Tech by giving back to nature
  • To support a greener environment through plantation of fruit-bearing trees
  • To encourage trainee participation in community initiatives

The programme was graced by: Sr Mini, Superior, JMJ–Sambalpur, Sr Mercy, Administrator, JMJ–Sambalpur, Sr Sofia Augustin, Finance Head, JMJ–Sambalpur and Sr Sarita Kujur, Centre Head, Don Bosco Tech–Sambalpur

Hospital staff of JMJ Campus, along with DB Tech staff members and trainees, actively participated in the programme.

The programme began with a welcome address by Sr Sarita Kujur, who highlighted the significance of the DB Tech Tree Initiative and reflected on 20 years of DB Tech’s impact in youth empowerment.

A total of 20 fruit-bearing saplings were planted:

  • 18 Mango trees
  • 2 Lemon trees

Sr Mercy addressed the gathering on the importance of trees in ecological balance and sustainable living. All guests, staff, and trainees participated in the plantation, symbolizing collective responsibility towards environmental protection.

Arrangements have been made for the regular care and maintenance of the saplings with support from JMJ Hospital staff and the DB Tech–Sambalpur team.

The Tree Plantation Programme was successfully conducted under the banner “DB Tech Tree – 20 Years of DB Tech”, creating a positive environmental and social impact. The activity stands as a model initiative under the DB Tech Tree Initiative, reflecting strong community partnership and active trainee involvement.
