An Awareness Program On Human Trafficking

Don Bosco Tech-Chitradurga has conducted an awareness programme on "Human Trafficking "on 6 March 2021 at Chithra Don Bosco's training hall for the current batch trainees of the Electrical Domestic Solutions domain. Fr. Sonychen Mathew (Director of Chithra Don Bosco Chitradurga) invited Mr Daniel Jabaraj (Programme leader of South Zone) and the team from Oasis India as resource persons for the day. The staff of Chithra and 25 trainees participated in the session. Mr Javeed (Trainer-BPO) welcomed the guests and introduced them to the trainees.
The half-day training took place under the leadership of Mr Daniel Jabaraj and the team. Mr Daniel explained the history, missions, functions and awareness strategies of the Anti-Human Trafficking Project. He also explained the various serious reasons for human trafficking, the Growing incidence of human trafficking, Laws against human trafficking, and solutions or ways to end human trafficking.
He showed some videos related to human trafficking. He also requested everyone to spread awareness on human trafficking, child marriage, child labour, child begging and sexual harassment. Because awareness is the key to fighting this injustice, Oasis is organizing a Prevention awareness session, rallies, campaigns, and workshops/trainings across Karnataka to raise awareness about trafficking and other issues.
The day was meaningfully and joyfully spent, the information was provided by them was really useful, valuable and informative to trainees and staff. Finally, trainers and trainees thanked Fr. Sony, Mr Daniel and the team from Oasis for their efforts.
