Don Bosco Tech- Chitradurga conducted guest lecture for Solar electrical trainees on November 25, 2019. Mr. Manjuth Bhagavath (Regional officer, SELCO) was invited as the resource person for the day.
Mr. Abhishek (Solar Electrical Trainer) welcomed the guest and introduced him to trainees. The objective of the guest lecture is to impart fundamental knowledge of solar energy and its potential in India. Mr. Manjunath chose the topic “Solar Energy as Alternative Forms of Energy” for the lecture. He started the lecture by interacting with the trainees about the maximum power generation and demand in India. He gave an introduction about solar energy, the source of solar energy, and the installation of solar panels its benefits, etc.
He delivered a lecture on the status of solar energy production and its need. He explained the potential of solar energy in India, how much potential available and the research areas that can be developed under the solar power system in India. The session followed by the project ideas in the solar system that can be developed by the trainees and the possibilities of getting funds for these projects. He showed some of the photographs of solar power plants in India and around the world, solar energy project-based videos and the statistical data regarding solar power production and its usages.
He explained that many of the useful sources of energy came from the natural transformation of solar energy like Wind energy, Water energy, Energy in food, Energy of fossil fuels et. He said that commonly used solar devices are a solar water heater, Solar cells, solar cookers, solar lighting, etc. He continued telling the working of solar water heater & solar cells. He said when you speak to the customers, speak about the future benefits and how much will be the saving and its advantages.
The trainees found the lecture session very useful. The guest lecture ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Pawan (Trainee, Solar Electrical) to the guest lecturer for spending some of his valuable time and sharing his most experienced knowledge with the trainees on an interesting topic.
