"First Guest Lecture For Sales Associate Trainees on Retail Marketing"

On March 10, 2020, Don Bosco Tech (Chitradurga) conducted its first guest lecture for the trainees of the ‘Sales Associate’ domain. Mr. Sudhakar, (HR, Beyond School Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore), was invited as a resource person for the day. Mr. Javeed (Trainer, BPO, Don Bosco Tech) introduced him to the trainees.
Mr. Sudhakar briefed the trainees about marketing strategies as he started with the basics of the retail and sales sectors. He discussed, in brief, about the types of marketing; telemarketing, digital marketing, direct market, indirect market, etc. He also discussed the difference between consumer and sales associates. Mr. Sudhakar exhorted the trainees to deal with the customers tactfully saying, “Focus on your communication skills which will help to tackle your customers.”
Then he spoke about selling additional products to a customer across. This can be achieved by delivering higher satisfaction and value. He gave sufficient information about the cost of a product, its discount, price, and promotional activities, etc.
The resource person said, “When you face a job interview, be confident but polite. Don’t forget to check on your body language.” If you are good at communication, he added, “You will surely climb the ladder of success with good increments.”
“We were so immersed, listening to him, whose session was filled with useful pieces of information,” said one of the participants who concluded the session with a vote of thanks to the resource person for sharing his knowledge. He even pressed Mr. Sudhakar to visit the center again, when time permits.
