Don Bosco Tech-Chitradurga hosted the first guest lecture for the trainees of the "Sales Associate" domain on August 7, 2020 through the Google Meet application. Mr. Umesh Kumbar (Assistant Manager of Sundaram Finance Pvt Ltd, Vijayapura), was invited as a resource person for the day. Ms. Shruthi A B (Trainers-Sales Associate) welcomed the guest and introduced him to trainees, who then started a conversation with the trainees. The session started at 10:45 AM and was attended by 15 trainees.

Mr. Kumbar addressed the trainees and trainers who participated in the session and spoke about the basic elements of sales and marketing. He covered the topics such as concepts of sales and marketing, the difference between sales and marketing, the types, functions, and strategies of sales and marketing. He also discussed the difference between consumers and sales associates. He explained how to deal with customers and the importance of communication skills in this sector and our lives as well. He shared their job roles, challenges, and their accomplishments in the field of sales.

He said that sales and marketing are two sides of a coin. Marketing simply means a strategy to create awareness of any product. It helps to make your brand value. Sales mean to create customers in trade using lead generated by marketing, which means revenue generated from selling products. He eventually clarified all of the trainees questions .

The session was very informative for the trainees and concluded at noon with a magnificent vote of thanks by Mr. Pawan (Trainer- Sales Associate).
