Don Bosco Tech Rangajan's Food and Beverage Service Associate trainees embarked on a valuable industrial visit to Hotel 'BORGOS' Resort and Spa, nestled in the serene Wild Valley Dhansari at Koibatra Gaon, Bypass, Golaghat, Assam, on November 30th, 2023. Accompanied by 26 trainees and the Centre team, the visit provided an enriching learning experience.
Upon arrival, Mr. Mohan, Manager of the Housekeeping Department at Borgos Hotel, extended a warm welcome to the trainees and trainers. He initiated the session by illuminating the significance of "BORGOS," an Axomiya term translating to "Banyan Tree." Mr. Mohan shared insightful details about the hotel's founder and owner, Mr. Ramesh Saikia, and introduced the manager. The trainees were acquainted with the hotel's structure and its plethora of facilities.
The immersive tour commenced with a visit to the main kitchen and restaurant on the first floor, where the trainees received a concise briefing. Subsequently, they were guided through various sections including the pastry kitchen, lobby area, back office, departmental store, main store, gym area, spa and wellness center, and swimming areas. A comprehensive property show round enlightened the trainees about the hotel's departments and the array of room types available, from Deluxe rooms to Suites.
Mr. Mohan elucidated the front office operations, elucidating check-in procedures, required documentation, and the provision of welcome drinks to guests upon arrival. Trainees gained insight into the meticulous attention to detail, including ID card verification for domestic guests and visa and passport checks for international guests.
Venturing to the top floor, the trainees explored the rooftop bar and restaurant, while being briefed about ongoing construction projects, including personal swimming pools. A visit to the power hub provided insights into the hotel's power supply system and machinery. The tour also encompassed lodging facilities for staff and workers, the laundry room, and its processes for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in guest clothing.
This immersive visit was instrumental in providing trainees with a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and amenities across all departments. It served as a platform for practical learning and enrichment in their journey towards becoming proficient Food and Beverage Service Associates.
