An industrial visit was organized to Borgos – The Wild Haven on 18 March 2026 for the trainees of Don Bosco Tech, Rangajan, Golaghat, Assam. The visit was coordinated by Raynald Donn Marbaniang (F&B Domain Trainer) and Rusna Misong (MST Domain Trainer) with the objective of providing trainees with practical exposure to real-time hotel operations and enhancing their understanding of the hospitality industry.

The session began with an introductory interaction led by Mr. Pranjal, Front Office Manager, along with Mr. Prallab, Housekeeping Manager, who provided an overview of the property and its services. The property offers a variety of facilities such as a swimming pool, spa, gym, multi-cuisine restaurant, Assamese specialty restaurant, bar facility, and recreational activities including table tennis and billiards. The hotel has a restaurant seating capacity of 82 covers and a bar capacity of 72 covers. It also consists of 72 rooms across five different categories designed to cater to various guest preferences.

The trainees were informed about the room categories and the seasonal pricing structure, which ranges approximately from ?7,500 to ?26,000 plus taxes, while suite rooms can cost up to ?30,000 plus taxes. The suites are equipped with additional amenities such as a sitting area, separate bedroom, jacuzzi, and steam bath, offering a premium experience to guests.

During the session, trainees were introduced to the key operational departments of the hotel, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Kitchen, Food and Beverage, and Horticulture. The explanation of these departments helped trainees understand how coordination and teamwork among different sections are essential for the smooth functioning of hotel operations.

The trainees were then taken on a guided tour of the property where they visited guest rooms, suite rooms, spa facilities, and specialty restaurants. The visit allowed them to observe the layout, facilities, and standards maintained in a professional hospitality environment. They were encouraged to ask questions related to room sizes, amenities, and guest services, which made the visit interactive and engaging.

Following the tour, an interactive session was conducted where trainees had the opportunity to clarify their doubts and discuss potential career opportunities within the hospitality industry. The session emphasized the importance of the front office as the face of the hotel and highlighted the value of strong communication and guest interaction skills. Trainees also learned the importance of observation and product knowledge, such as understanding guest preferences, professional attire, and basic knowledge of food and beverages. The discussion further provided insight into the challenges and growth opportunities within the hospitality sector, while stressing the significance of grooming, discipline, and continuous learning.

The speaker also shared real-life experiences and interview insights, helping trainees gain a clearer understanding of industry expectations and professional standards.
