Program Highlights

The celebration commenced with a welcome address, where students were introduced to the significance of World Youth Skills Day and its global importance. The facilitator emphasized that technical knowledge alone is not sufficient in today's competitive world and that communication, leadership, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving skills play an equally important role in achieving professional success.

The first activity conducted during the program was Pick and Speech. Students were invited one by one to randomly select a topic related to youth skills from a prepared set of themes. Each participant was given a short preparation time before delivering a speech in front of fellow students and trainers.

The topics encouraged students to think critically about skill development, career growth, leadership, communication, digital literacy, teamwork, confidence, and lifelong learning. The activity challenged participants to organize their thoughts quickly and present them confidently before an audience. Students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and willingly accepted the challenge despite the spontaneous nature of the activity.

The Pick and Speech activity proved to be an excellent exercise for improving stage confidence and reducing hesitation while speaking publicly. Students gradually became more comfortable expressing their ideas, and the audience actively encouraged every speaker with applause and appreciation. Constructive feedback was provided to help participants improve their presentation style, voice modulation, body language, and overall communication skills.

Following the speech session, the program continued with a Group Discussion focusing on the theme "Youth Skills for Today's and Tomorrow's Opportunities." Students were divided into groups and encouraged to discuss the importance of acquiring both technical and soft skills in preparing for future careers.

Each group actively participated in the discussion by sharing opinions, asking questions, and building upon each other's ideas. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including employability skills, digital literacy, and adaptability to technological advancements, teamwork, leadership qualities, workplace ethics, entrepreneurship, and the importance of continuous learning.

Students reflected on how skill development can improve employment opportunities and enable young people to contribute effectively to society. Many participants shared personal experiences about learning new skills and overcoming challenges through dedication and practiceThe group discussion encouraged students to listen carefully to different viewpoints while expressing their own opinions respectfully. They learned the importance of collaboration, mutual respect, and constructive communication. Trainers facilitated the discussions by asking thought-provoking questions and guiding students toward meaningful conclusions without limiting their creativity.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was the active involvement of all participants. Students who were initially hesitant gradually gained confidence and contributed valuable ideas during the discussions. The event inspired participants to remain committed to learning, developing their strengths, and preparing themselves for future opportunities.

Conclusion

The World Youth Skills Day celebration was successfully conducted and achieved its intended objectives of promoting awareness about the importance of skill development among young people. Through the Pick and Speech and Group Discussion activities, students actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that enhanced their confidence, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking abilities.

Overall, the celebration served as an inspiring reminder that empowering youth with the right skills is the foundation for building successful careers, responsible citizens, and a stronger society. The event concluded on a positive note, leaving students motivated to continue developing their knowledge, abilities, and confidence for a brighter future.
