Introduction

The session created a positive learning environment where students actively participated, listened to one another, and learned through observation and interaction.

Activity Description

The Pick and Speech Activity was conducted in a structured and interactive manner inside the classroom. At the beginning of the session, the trainer explained the purpose and rules of the activity. Students were informed that they would randomly pick a chit containing a topic and deliver a short speech based on their understanding. They were encouraged to speak confidently without worrying about making mistakes, as the activity focused on learning and improvement.

A variety of topics related to education, technology, daily life, leadership, digital literacy, environmental awareness, time management, communication, career goals, and social values were written on separate chits. Each student was invited one by one to pick a chit randomly without knowing the topic in advance.

After selecting a chit, students read the topic aloud and were given a brief moment to organize their ideas before beginning their speech. Each participant expressed their views using their own knowledge, experiences, and understanding. Since the topics were assigned randomly, students had to think quickly and communicate their ideas in a logical and meaningful manner.

The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from all students. Every participant attempted to speak with confidence and clarity, while their classmates listened attentively and appreciated their efforts. Some students shared personal experiences related to the topics, while others explained their ideas using practical examples. The diversity of opinions made the session interesting and informative.

Throughout the activity, students practiced maintaining eye contact, speaking clearly, using appropriate body language, and presenting their thoughts in an organized manner. The exercise helped them improve their confidence while addressing an audience and encouraged them to express themselves without hesitation.

The trainer observed each presentation and provided constructive feedback on voice clarity, pronunciation, confidence, body language, and content organization. Students welcomed the feedback positively and understood the importance of continuous practice in improving communication skills. Those who were initially nervous gradually gained confidence after observing and learning from their peers.

The activity also promoted active listening and mutual respect. Students appreciated different viewpoints and encouraged one another through applause and positive interaction. The supportive classroom environment motivated even shy participants to speak confidently.

By the end of the session, students realized that effective communication is developed through consistent practice and self-confidence. They also understood the importance of organizing their thoughts quickly and expressing them clearly, which are valuable skills for interviews, presentations, and workplace communication. The activity concluded with a brief interaction where students shared their learning experiences and expressed their enjoyment of the session.

Conclusion

The Pick and Speech Activity conducted on 13th July 2026 was successfully organized and effectively achieved its objectives of improving communication skills, public speaking abilities, confidence, and spontaneous thinking among the Digital Mitra students. The activity provided every participant with an opportunity to express their ideas, overcome stage fear, and strengthen their presentation skills in a supportive learning environment.
