A Mock Interview session was conducted at Don Bosco Tech for the trainees of Digital Mitra Batch 1 to prepare them for real-world job interviews. The activity was designed to simulate an actual interview environment, enabling students to experience the interview process, build confidence, and improve their communication and presentation skills. The session also provided constructive feedback to help trainees identify their strengths and areas for improvement before attending actual placement interviews.
Objectives of the Activity
The main objectives of conducting the Mock Interview were:
- To familiarize trainees with the interview process
- To improve communication and interpersonal skills
- To build self-confidence and reduce interview anxiety
- To assess students' technical and soft skills
- To provide constructive feedback for personal and professional improvement
Activity Description
The Mock Interview was conducted in a professional interview setting where each trainee was interviewed individually. The interview included questions related to self-introduction, educational background, career goals, communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and situational problem-solving.
Interviewers assessed the trainees on various parameters such as confidence, body language, communication, clarity of thought, grooming, and overall presentation. After each interview, personalized feedback was provided, highlighting both strengths and areas requiring improvement. Students were guided on how to answer questions effectively, maintain eye contact, communicate confidently, and present themselves professionally during interviews.
Student Response and Outcomes

Although some students were initially nervous, they gradually became more confident as the activity progressed. The practical interview experience helped them understand employer expectations and identify areas where they needed improvement.
The session significantly enhanced students' confidence, communication skills, interview etiquette, and ability to respond to common interview questions. The constructive feedback motivated trainees to work on their weaknesses and improve their overall employability skills.
Many students expressed that the Mock Interview gave them valuable exposure to a real interview environment and better prepared them for future placement opportunities.
