Report on Alumni Guest Lecture

On October 9, 2024, Don Bosco Tech Society, Gurdaspur, organized an enriching alumni guest lecture for trainees enrolled in the Customer Care Executive – Domestic Non-Voice domain. The session was honored by the presence of two accomplished alumni, Mr. Goutam and Ms. Anshu Kashyap, both of whom have successfully established themselves in professional roles within the customer service industry.

Mr. Goutam, currently employed at a reputed organization, shared insightful experiences from his career journey. He highlighted the significance of core skills such as effective written communication, active listening, and patience in non-voice customer service roles. He explained how empathy and clarity in responses are essential in resolving customer concerns, even without verbal interaction. He also emphasized the importance of managing time efficiently and staying updated with evolving industry practices to remain competitive in the field. Ms. Anshu Kashyap complemented the session by offering her perspective on workplace adaptability. She encouraged trainees to maintain a positive mindset, especially when facing challenges, and underscored the value of resilience in professional settings. She spoke about the importance of building strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and supervisors, which plays a key role in long-term career growth. Anshu also advocated for continuous learning and self-improvement, particularly by embracing constructive feedback.The lecture concluded with an engaging interactive session where trainees actively participated, asking thoughtful questions and seeking career guidance. The alumni’s personal experiences and practical tips served as a source of motivation for the trainees, offering them a clearer understanding of what to expect and how to excel in the customer care industry.
