Field Visit ITC EAST Batch 7 FY 2021-22
09 Dec 2021
On December 9, 2021, the ITI East Batch 7 for the year 2021-22 embarked on an insightful field visit to Joloshree Restaurant, located within Hotel Rivere Habitat Chandannagar. Accompanied by 31 enthusiastic students and our dedicated trainers, Ms. Sumana Pal and Mr. Wasim Mallick, the visit aimed to provide firsthand knowledge of the operations within a renowned establishment.
Joloshree Restaurant, nestled along the serene banks of the Ganges, presented an intriguing setting for our exploration. The restaurant, a 33-meter-long vessel with dimensions of 4.87 meters breadth and 1.40 meters depth, boasts an impressive 160 P.S engine capable of cruising at 6 knots. With a capacity to accommodate 48 patrons, Joloshree offers an intimate setting ideal for small gatherings and official meetings, complemented by its lower deck's air-conditioned ambiance and sound system facilities.
Upon arrival at Hotel Rivere Habitat Chandannagar, our group was warmly welcomed by the hotel's manager, Mr. Kaushik Banerjee. Following meticulous sanitization procedures, we were ushered into the vibrant atmosphere of Joloshree. Given the high occupancy, our visit was divided into two slots to ensure an immersive experience for all.
Under the guidance of Mr. Kaushik and Mr. Wasim, the first slot of 15 students embarked on a comprehensive tour of the restaurant's various departments. From the bustling kitchen to the tranquil lobby area, students gained invaluable insights into the meticulous workings of a four-star establishment. Despite the constraints, all students had the opportunity to explore every facet of Joloshree, enhancing their understanding of hospitality management.
Following the first slot, the second group, led by Ms. Sumana Pal and Mr. Kaushik, continued the immersive tour, replicating the enriching experience for the remaining 16 students. Throughout the visit, permissions were granted for capturing moments, allowing students to document their learning journey within the confines of the restaurant.
Our gratitude extends to the gracious hospitality extended by Mr. Kaushik Banerjee and the entire team at Hotel Rivere Habitat Chandannagar, whose generosity and cooperation made this insightful field visit possible. Departing from the hotel premises at approximately 3:00 pm, the field visit concluded as a resounding success, leaving students enlightened and inspired by the inner workings of the hospitality industry.
