Hackers who are still on the lookout for personal information can use credit or bank information might manipulate them in illegal activities by adopting one’s identity.
He discussed ten effective methods that would help us to avoid getting into trouble online while using it.“When we use professional platforms try to not give complete information on personal matters as it might be traced by anyone from anywhere in the world and the information once given online cannot be erased even we delete it from our account on the social platform. As noted, both web browser and mobile operating systems have settings available to protect our privacy online.” he said. A major website like FACEBOOK also has privacy-enhancing settings available. These settings are sometimes hard to find because the company wants your personal information for its marketing value. Keywords that he focussed the entire session were: Keep professional information limited, privacy settings on, practice safe browsing, choose a strong password, make an online purchase from trusted sites, Be careful what we post/ who we meet online. After the lecture, students got clarified their doubts on the topic. This awareness session was a big opportunity for them to know more about cyber-attacks and how to browse the internet safely.
