Don Bosco Tech Kollam center organized an Industrial visit on August 12, 2022, to Liscom Solutions and Services Pvt Ltd., Located in Kochi of Ernakulam district in Kerala, for the 26 trainees of CRM domestic Non-Voice job role. Arrangements for the industrial visit have done with Miss. Monica Xavier, HR Executive at Liscom, in prior. Mr. Godwin A, CRM Domestic Non-Voice Trainer, and Mr.Tinu Ruben, Communicative English Trainer, coordinated the visit to Kochi.

Theoretical knowledge is not enough for dreaming of a professional career. Students benefit more from a practical perspective of the actual workplace. Hence, the foremost objective of an industrial visit is to provide the trainees with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods, and employment practices. Interacting with the employees in the sector will give trainees a good understanding of the current working environment. Edging towards visiting an organization based on their job role will bridge the gap between the trainees and their dream company. The certificate of participation will be an added advantage to showcase in one’s resume.

To help trainees digest the practical concept, trainers took them to a premier Voice and Non-Voice Service Provider pinpointed in Kochi. There was a look of ecstasy on the face of all trainees. The journey started at 7 a.m. and reached its destination at around 12.30 p.m. The expedition was very comfortable and enjoyable.

Miss.Monica greeted us in a friendly manner upon our arrival at Liscom. She shared a detailed chart of what would happen during the entire day.

There were 3-sessions, each giving a detailed view of various aspects of the telecom industry.

First Session- led by Miss Monica Xavier

She gave us a quick overview of the history, the various services provided, the duties of a customer care representative, their compensation packages, etc. It was easy for the students to comprehend what was being taught by connecting the examples of various customer contact techniques to real-life situations.

Second Session- led by Mr. Anoop Aravind, HR Manager

He advised the trainees to use this position as a springboard for a career and warned them that gaining expertise in this specific profession would take time. He also advised us to be extremely pleasant when addressing the issues of clients because we are dealing with people, and their behavioral traits vary from one person to the next

Third Session – led by Mr. Jethin P V, Operational Manager

An interactive session between trainees and the manager where the trainees got the opportunity to ask questions related to their area of interest, and he provided thoughtful insight into their doubts.

 

After the sessions were over, there was a visit to the office in the floor section and explored the different industry departments to know more about the working practices and to bring a positive intangible change to the personalities of trainees. The main aim of this industrial visit is, Education-Exposure-Experience.

The trainees got acquainted with the culture of the telecom sector through the short visit. They also explored various methods of handling client calls, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the telecom sector.

Tinu Ruben delivered a vote of appreciation on behalf of Don Bosco tech to Liscom at the end of the visit.
