07 Mar 2020
Acknowledging the fact that the women of today have achieved a greater height, Don Bosco Tech Society (Kollam) celebrated it on March 7, 2020, one day before, in association with FCDP (Fishermen Development Program) and TMS (Theeradesa Mahila Society).
The program started at 11.00 am with guests Ms. Rosy Bruno (Ex. Member, Theeradesa Mahila Society) and Ms. Annamma Baburaj (Team Member, ChildLine Kollam). Ms. Smitha (Centre Coordinator) welcomed the guests on behalf of everyone. As part of the Women's Day celebration, Ms. Bruno presided over the function who advised women to ‘scale new heights in all the aspects of life’ by stating the examples of Indian lady legends. Adding to that she told everyone about the importance of celebrating this day. It was Ms. Baburaj’s turn who advised women on acquiring a job. She continued saying, “every woman should have the ability to work to support herself and look after her family without relying on another person.” She added, “Women who have a job are respected in society.”
After the keynotes of address, the trainees sought and got clarified their worries and anxieties on how a woman faces problems while living in society and to tackle them. After the session was over, Mr. Tinu Ruben (Trainer, Communicative English) proposed a vote of thanks to everyone and concluded the get-together.
The staff and the students took part in the rally, public meeting, and cultural event organized by FCDP & TMS in the evening as an extension of its celebration adding color to the ongoing program.
