The Batch Induction Program at ITC East for the year 2022-23, Batch 10, commenced on October 27 2022 with an enthusiastic group of students embarking on their journey in hospitality management. The initial five-day workshop focused on instilling values, correct attitudes, and situational awareness among the candidates. Soft skills were emphasized as essential components of today's workforce, complementing technical expertise with interpersonal and relationship-building abilities vital for effective communication and collaboration.

Led by Communicative English and ITES Trainer Ms. Estrela Osta, the program emphasized the interconnectedness of personal growth with social interactions. Through engaging games, students were not only taught moral codes and soft skills but also the importance of teamwork and adaptability in challenging environments. Activities were strategically designed to cultivate traits like patient listening, effective communication, self-confidence, team coordination, and the right attitude.

The first week's classes focused on developing communicative, leadership, and trust-building skills, with activities such as "Chinese Whisper," “Goal Setting,” “Human Snake,” and "Balancing the Ball and Bamboo Stick." Students also participated in eco-friendly initiatives, turning waste into usable products. This immersive approach fostered camaraderie among initially unfamiliar students, showcasing leadership potential and promoting a team-oriented mindset.

Following the initial week, students provided positive feedback, highlighting their active engagement and learning achievements. They demonstrated their knowledge through presentations on Kolkata's 5-star hotels, reflecting their research efforts and newfound understanding of the hospitality sector. The program not only imparted theoretical knowledge but also instilled practical skills, preparing students for successful careers and earning their gratitude towards Don Bosco Nitika for the invaluable opportunity.
