We are glad that on 17 December, 2019, Mr. Sahir Ali Molla from The Glass House, Kolkata was present in Don Bosco Nitika to share his vast knowledge and experience with the young candidates of ITC-East 2019-20, Batch 7 & 8. The candidates were also very excited for this guest lecture when they heard that Mr. Sahir Ali Molla was also an ex-candidate of Don Bosco Nitika and he too did his hotel management training from here. 52 candidates attended this inspiring guest lecture.

Mr. Sahir Ali Molla started the session by introducing himself and by sharing his own story of hardships to inspire and encourage the students – this helped them to know what are the various challenges that they may face and what they need to be prepared for. He has also worked in Barbeque Nation. Starting his carrier as a steward and then reaching the position of a Captain was not that easy. He informed students to keep an open mind and adaptive nature. Gain knowledge from wherever you can and observe each and everything to use that for your own good. He even gave the minute details of the restaurant. He stated that comprehensive knowledge will enable them to achieve prestigious post in the hotel. Hard work coupled with competency and knowledge with skill is the basic requirements to prosper our career in hospitality sector.  His ambition drove him ahead in his life. He encouraged the trainees to have an ambition – a reason to live their life. He further emphasized that one should work for at least 1 year in any department to gain adequate knowledge of the industry because time helps us to gain spontaneous knowledge automatically. After an hour of guest lecture, there was a floor discussion. In the discussion the trainees had an opportunity to clear their doubts regarding the workplace. After the floor discussion the candidates got a clear picture about the hotel industry.

Mr. Sahir Ali Molla concluded by wishing the trainees all the best for their bright future. The candidates thanked Mr. Sahir Ali Molla and the staffs for organizing such an inspiring guest lecture. Mr. Sahir Ali Molla was offered a gift by one of the candidates as a token of love and appreciation.
