As part of the Digital Mitra program under Don Bosco Tech Society, an enriching industrial visit was organized on 7th October 2025 to VGM Technologies Ltd, located in Bidhannagar, New Town. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical industry experience, providing trainees with first-hand exposure to the workings of a dynamic digital service-based company. The Digital Mitra program is dedicated to equipping underprivileged youth with relevant digital skills, and this experience was designed to further prepare them for the professional world.

The visit had multiple objectives: to provide practical exposure to digital industry operations, to demonstrate the use of digital tools, communication strategies, and professional soft skills, and to inspire trainees by showcasing real career pathways and growth opportunities in the digital sector. It also sought to familiarize the participants with the professional culture, work discipline, and expectations of modern corporate environments.

Four enthusiastic trainees, accompanied by Digital Mitra Trainer Mr. Sebak Kumar Munda, participated in the visit. All participants had undergone foundational training in computer literacy, digital communication, and workplace readiness, which allowed them to engage deeply with the learning experience.

Upon arrival at VGM Technologies Ltd, the trainees were warmly welcomed by the company’s HR and training teams. The program began with an introduction to the company’s history, mission, and range of services in client interaction, service support, and data processing. The trainees were then guided on a detailed tour of different departments, including the Customer Support Unit, Technical Operations, and Documentation Hub.

The highlight of the visit included live demonstrations of work processes such as digital data entry, client query management through CRM software, and digital documentation validation. The trainees also participated in an interactive session on workplace etiquette and digital professionalism, learning from employees about adapting to corporate standards and practices. Opportunities for dialogue with team members allowed the trainees to gain insights into daily responsibilities, workflow patterns, and challenges faced by industry professionals.
