Introduction

The five-day Induction Programme held at Don Bosco Tech–Monsada was designed to warmly welcome the new group of trainees and help them settle comfortably into the training environment. The main goal of the programme was to guide students as they begin their vocational learning journey, while helping them understand the values, expectations, and opportunities available at the centre.

Through a blend of orientation sessions, motivational talks, group activities, and engaging games, the programme aimed to create a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. It also helped trainees build confidence, understand the importance of discipline, and develop a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

Programme Proceedings

Each day of the induction began with the Prayer Song followed by the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of unity, respect, and discipline among the trainees.

On the first day, the trainees were introduced to the functioning of the centre, the staff members, and the different training departments. An inspiring NDTV video encouraged students to look at their future with determination and optimism. The session also included trainee self-introductions, allowing everyone to get to know one another better. The day concluded with an encouraging message from Father, which left the students feeling motivated and thoughtful about their new journey.

The second day focused on improving communication abilities and helping students understand different job responsibilities related to their training fields. The day began with a recap of the previous session to maintain continuity. Trainers explained various job roles and responsibilities, giving trainees a clearer picture of their future career paths. Activities such as group discussions and self-introduction exercises helped students interact with each other. Fun activities like the Bomb in the City game promoted teamwork and quick thinking. A motivational video by Manoj Kumar Sharma, an IPS officer who failed in his 12th grade exam deeply inspired the trainees, followed by discussions and energetic warm-up activities such as the Penguin Dance.

On the third day, the emphasis shifted towards knowledge development and mental awareness. Sessions on Brain in Education and Time Management highlighted how focus, discipline, and effective planning contribute to personal and academic success. Interactive activities like the Copy and Paste game encouraged cooperation and coordination among the trainees. The movie SAFAR was shown entertaining students while also conveying meaningful messages about passion, family values, and perseverance. Short dance breaks and games kept the atmosphere lively throughout the day.

The fourth day continued with engaging educational sessions and interactive activities. A deeper discussion on the Role of the Brain in Education helped trainees understand how learning works and how they can improve their concentration and memory. A session on personality development guided students to reflect on their habits, strengths, and personal goals. Recreational games such as the Balloon and Cup activity and the cheerful Chicken Dance added fun and relaxation to the day. The screening of the animated film The Valley of Lost Ants provided visual learning while also encouraging creativity and imagination.

The final day focused on practical life skills that are essential for everyday life. The trainees attended sessions on financial literacy, time management, and health awareness. Prokash Sir conducted an engaging session on financial literacy, explaining financial concepts with the help of real examples of online investment. Students also learned about managing their time wisely and understanding the Seven Pillars of Health to maintain both physical and mental well-being. The day included interactive activities such as the Thermocol Ball and Straw game, which encouraged focus, teamwork, and coordination.

Outcomes and Reflections

The induction programme successfully prepared the trainees for the upcoming training phase by offering them a structured and encouraging start. Through various sessions and activities, students gained a better understanding of their responsibilities, training goals, and future opportunities.

The combination of motivational videos, learning sessions, and group activities helped trainees improve their confidence, communication abilities, and sense of discipline. Sessions on health, time management, and financial awareness also provided valuable life lessons that will support them in both personal and professional life.

Overall, the programme strengthened the bond among trainees and created a positive mind-set that will help them move forward with enthusiasm and determination.
