Introduction

A Self-Introduction Competition was organized for the Guest Service Associate (GSA) trainees on 23rd June 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Assembly Lawn. The objective of the activity was to improve the trainees' communication skills, confidence, self-presentation, and public speaking abilities, which are essential qualities for a successful career in the hospitality industry.

 

Main Proceedings

A total of 16 trainees actively participated in the competition. Each participant introduced themselves in English, highlighting their personal background, educational qualifications, interests, strengths, career goals, and reasons for choosing the Guest Service Associate trade. The participants were encouraged to maintain proper posture, eye contact, clear pronunciation, and confidence while speaking.

The performances were evaluated by Miss Mou Madam and Sir Prokash based on confidence, fluency, body language, clarity of speech, content, and overall presentation. The judges appreciated the efforts of all participants and provided constructive feedback to help them improve their communication and interview skills.

 

Conclusion

The competition proved to be an engaging and valuable learning experience. It helped the trainees overcome stage fear, build self-confidence, and enhance their speaking abilities. The judges encouraged the participants to continue practicing spoken English and self-introduction regularly, as these skills play a vital role in interviews and customer service roles within the hospitality industry. The event concluded successfully with words of appreciation for all the participants.
