Industrial Visit for Web Developer
30 Oct 2025
On 30th October 2025, the Web Developer trainees of Don Bosco Tech-Monsada had the opportunity to visit Mpokket, a dynamic financial technology company located in Bidhannagar, Sector-V. This industrial exposure was organized to give the trainees a first-hand experience of the professional digital workspace, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry applications.
The visit aimed to provide participants with a deep understanding of how modern web development companies operate. Trainees observed the interplay of front-end and back-end systems, explored collaborative workflows, and gained insight into project execution, debugging, version control, and deployment strategies. The experience was designed to inspire the learners, enhancing their technical skills while exposing them to the professional culture of a thriving IT company.
A total of 16 trainees from Web Developer Batch B6 (250213), guided by Ms. Mou Biswas, attended the visit. Prior to the event, the participants had completed foundational training in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with sessions on coding best practices and workplace etiquette, ensuring they were well-prepared to absorb the industrial processes they witnessed.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome and an orientation session by Mr. Shibunath Das (HR, Mpokket), who shared the company’s journey and its role in leveraging digital solutions to transform financial services. Trainees explored the core departments, including software development, quality assurance, and technical support, gaining a clear understanding of how each team contributes to a project’s success.
Highlights of the tour included a detailed walk-through of the UI/UX design section, software development wing, and testing department. Trainees observed real-time coding, software testing within integrated development environments (IDEs), and learned about SCRUM methodology, project management timelines, and client communication strategies. They also received hands-on exposure to GitHub repositories, task tracking systems, and collaboration boards, which are essential tools for modern developers. Interactive sessions with junior developers and designers offered valuable insights into career progression, learning strategies, and the discipline required in the professional world.
The visit left a lasting impact on the trainees. They gained practical awareness of how web applications are built, tested, and deployed, understood team dynamics in a corporate setup, and observed the process of client interaction and requirement gathering in live projects. Trainees also developed a deeper appreciation for time management, workplace discipline, and the nuances of corporate culture.
Reflections from participants highlighted the motivational aspect of the visit. Nibir Saha remarked, “We got to see how different parts of a website are handled by specific team members. It helped us visualize how teamwork brings a project to life.” Sovik Sikder added, “This experience motivated me to practice coding more seriously. I now dream of working in a professional tech company like Mpokket.”
The industrial visit to Mpokket on 30th October 2025 was more than an observational exercise; it was an inspiring journey into the world of professional web development. It reinforced classroom learning, offered practical exposure, and fueled the aspirations of young tech enthusiasts, preparing them for meaningful and rewarding careers in the digital industry.
