Field Visit – 2 (DTP Students)
24 Oct 2025
On 5 March 2026, the DTP (Desktop Publishing) students of Don Bosco Tech Society, Sabbavaram embarked on their second field visit to S.F.S. Printing School & Press, stepping beyond the classroom to experience the dynamic world of professional printing and publishing.
The visit offered students a close and engaging look at the machinery and processes that bring digital designs to life on paper. As they walked through the press, the rhythmic movement of printing machines and the scent of fresh ink created an atmosphere that vividly illustrated the journey from concept to final print. Students observed a variety of printing machines in action and learned how different printing techniques are applied in real industry settings.
Guided through the facility, the students gained valuable insights into machine operations, types of printing methods, and the careful coordination required to transform digital layouts into high-quality printed materials. The experience allowed them to witness how the skills they are developing in Desktop Publishing play a vital role in the broader printing and publishing ecosystem.
More than just a visit, the field exposure served as an inspiring bridge between theory and practice. It helped students appreciate the precision, creativity, and teamwork involved in professional printing. The interaction with industry tools and processes deepened their understanding and sparked curiosity about the many possibilities within the printing and design sector.
The visit to S.F.S. Printing School & Press proved to be an enriching and memorable learning experience. It not only strengthened the students’ practical knowledge but also motivated them to pursue excellence in their craft, leaving them with a clearer vision of the professional pathways that lie ahead in the world of design and print media.
