Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur Center Teams, Odisha

A two day training titled “Training of Trainer” was successfully organized at Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur Center on 2nd & 3rd of June’2022 for the trainers by Don Bosco Tech State Team of Odisha. The purpose of this training was to guide participants on the concept of development and its role of the Project cycle. The Training program included various topics such as process of Operation cycle, roles of NSQF in skilling eco system, Assessment and Certification, MIS and M & E, Finance and PSD, Human Resource, placement and importance of Communications.
The main purpose of the activity was to make the trainers to learn and re-learn the new and updated process which can smoothen the process of execution of an assignment. Through this activity the participants were exposed to various process cycles of operations and about the whole skill ecosystem. They were brushed about the different phases of project cycle such Pre-Implementing, Implementing and Post-Implementing stages and the various sub activities under each component. The best part they learn the timelines for different activities whether it is induction planner or the entire batch activity planner. This needs to be followed and achieved within the stipulated timeline to execute as per any donor agency. They learnt about the deliverables of different stakeholders and how it directly impacts in the training program.
They came to know about the step by step activities of Monitoring and Evaluation, how it helps to track the project. Where the proper documentation and other operational activities can be streamlined through the tool of mid - batch assessment.
They were also injected with a special drive on the skill ecosystem and the various stakeholders involved into it. They were finely oriented on NSQF and NSDC. The importance of Sector Skill Councils and the reason behind standardizing various Qualification Packages and NOS. Also they came to know about different kinds of skills & Knowledge involved into it such as Professional skills, Platform skills, generic skills & core skills etc. We know that whatever activities we conduct, we must know how to let others know about our presence. Into this context the state correspondent team over viewed the importance of developing the success stories. Various tools and formats were demonstrated on how to draft a success story.
Last day the session was started with the Sr. Durairaj Amudha –Superior, Sr. Florence – Head of Administrator, and Sr. Sophia Augustine – Head of Accounts of JMJ Hospital, Sambalpur, they were very happy to be a part of the session. The HR policies, procedures and activities had a significant mention in minute detail. Finance department related policies, procedures and documentation were covered in detail both at center, state and national level. On a whole policies, procedures, activities and documentation we're dealt in details during the TOT. This TOT in particular was a necessary eye opener for all trainers.
Participants respect each other’s’ point of view, all participants actively participated. All the participants presented their views and understanding on the assigned topics and they also shared their ideas for improvement. Later on the forum was opened for question and answers. The trainers were asked about their strengths and areas of improvements. The participants showed an improvement in their level of knowledge. With regards to training, participants shared that training was very helpful and the content and exercises used in training helped them understand the topic and its significance.
