The 1st guest lecturer session for the Graphic Designer job role was successfully organized at Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur Center on “Album Designing and Photo Re-Touching” on February 6, 2023 for the trainees of batch – 5 under Accenture - 12. Mr. Swagat Acharya, professional from AK Photography, was invited as the Guest Lecturer.

The guest lecture began with a welcome address by the domain trainer Mr. Lalgopal Nanda. He introduced and welcomed Mr. Swagat to deliver the lecture.

Mr. Swagat briefed the trainees on different aspects of photo editing. He furthered his session by pointing out and explaining various parts of album designing such as photo retouching; Collage composing, Framing, and Colour management.  He encouraged students and said whether you are dealing with beauty, landscape, model, or portrait photography, a proper retouch or edit can make a world of difference! If you have your photos professionally edited, people will appreciate your work. He showcased the job opportunities and career graph along with the associated value addition to a family in terms of financial support. Now a day’s, graphic design and visual communication are being widely used in every industry. Whether it is website design, illustrated books, product packaging or advertising the graphic design is used as a tool. And the career opportunities it offers with the rise in demand for graphic designers & editors/ retouches. There is a plethora of job opportunities in different kinds of industries such as studios, printing and publishing houses and media industries for album designer & photo editing trainees which one can pursue after their graphic design course for better skill upgradation.

In the next part of the session, trainees raised queries on the subject and Mr. Swagat answered them to their complete satisfaction. As per the feedback received from the participants it was a very good learning experience, the lecture helped them in understanding the industry requirements and how to be ready for the rapid changing industry statistics.

The session ended with a hearty thanks to Mr. Swagat by support domain trainer Mr. Sarada Prasad Nanda in appreciation for taking the time out to educate the trainees.
