Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur recently organized an enlightening exposure visit to AB Mushroom Farm in Khetrajpur, Sambalpur. The purpose was to provide our Mushroom Grower trainees from Batch – 03, along with Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera (Domain Trainer) and Mr. Sarata Kumar Dash, with a firsthand experience and valuable insights into the fascinating world of mushroom cultivation. This memorable excursion took place on September 15, 2023, and was marked by a warm welcome from the farm's proprietor, Mr. Shanti Prakash Pradhan.

Mr. Pradhan graciously shared his expertise on the intricate process of paddy straw mushroom production in Odisha. He meticulously explained the various steps involved, including the preparation of the shed, bed creation, selection of healthy spawns, and the distribution of spawn on the bed, among other fundamental activities. Additionally, he delved into different methods such as the bed method, heap method, spiral method, and cage method, each applicable to different types of mushroom production. Mr. Pradhan also addressed the challenges one might encounter during cultivation and offered valuable strategies to overcome them successfully.

Our trainees exhibited great enthusiasm and engagement throughout the session, actively participating by posing insightful questions to clarify their doubts. Mr. Pradhan, with his calm demeanor and profound knowledge, responded to their queries to their utmost satisfaction. The trainees unanimously considered this session to be both important and captivating, as it provided a practical perspective on mushroom cultivation.

This field trip was a truly enriching experience that allowed our trainees to see the subject matter from a real-world standpoint. Mr. Dillip (Trainer) and the trainees of DB Tech express their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Pradhan for his generous cooperation, permission, and unwavering support, which were instrumental in making this visit a resounding success and fulfilling its objectives.
