Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur arranged an exposure visit to AB Mushroom Farm Bangalipada, Sambalpur for the betterment of the professional ethics of trainees. Visit was accompanied by Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera (Domain Trainer) and Mr. Lalgopal Nanda (Trainer-Graphic Designer) along with the Mushroom Grower trainees of Btach-7, on January 2, 2023, which helped them to dream their growth and progress in the chosen job role. The students arrived at the farm, where they were greeted by Proprietor Mr. Shanti Prakash Padhan of AB Mushroom Farm.

Mr. Pradhan, proprietor of AB Mushroom, explained various processes of mushroom production and demonstrated the activities involved in the process. He continued his speech by explaining the production cost for starting the cultivation of each batch of mushroom. Grading of mushrooms is important for marketing, generally done by segregation of mushrooms into various grade standards as per market demand. Packing is essential to protect the mushroom during marketing and generally packed in polythene bags for local markets. Mushrooms are marketed as fresh, dried and preserved he said.

In this programme, all the trainees were actively involved. The participants were made aware of the nutritional value and market demand for mushrooms. Demonstration of oyster mushroom cultivation and briefing on all the ingredients required to cultivation were shared by Mr. Pradhan. The trainees were very eager and asked a number of questions regarding the subject and Mr. Pradhan answered them. Mr. Pradhan also offered the trainees a few valuable tips on different weather conditions and preparedness for them in relation to mushroom growing.

Indeed it was a wonderful exposure to the aspirants which gave them a space of wide knowledge and learning experience.
