Don Bosco Tech, Sambalpur, Odisha, witnessed a momentous event on October 10, 2023, as they inaugurated Batch - 05 for the Mushroom Grower job role, in association with Accenture. Mr. Lalgopal Nanda, extending a warm welcome to both esteemed guests and the newly enrolled trainees, set the stage for an inspiring ceremony.

The event commenced with a significant gesture as Sr. Sarita Kujur, the chief guest, was invited to light the ceremonial lamp, signifying the start of this exciting journey. With a sense of unity, Sr. Sarita, along with the trainer and a few trainees, illuminated the lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment that learning brings.

Mr. Lalgopal Nanda, in his address, shed light on the project's pivotal role in empowering marginalized and socially disadvantaged youth in our society. He presented a comprehensive overview of DB Tech's skilling program, emphasizing its nationwide reach and its special focus on western Odisha, highlighting the far-reaching benefits it offers.

Sr. Sarita, as the chief guest, passionately stressed the link between skilling and improved livelihoods through self-employment. She delved into the significance of mushrooms, their medicinal and nutritional value, and their economic importance. Moreover, she encouraged trainees to recognize the potential of mushroom cultivation as a viable commercial venture for small and marginal farmers, providing them with better livelihood opportunities. Sr. Sarita urged trainees to maintain punctuality and discipline in their learning journey. She concluded her speech by emphasizing how mushroom cultivation opens doors to livelihood opportunities, self-employment, and economic development.

Domain trainer Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera echoed the importance of self-employment in contrast to the often challenging pursuit of traditional jobs. He elaborated on the short-term training program and Don Bosco Tech Society's collaborative mission with Accenture.
