Don Bosco Tech Society, Sambalpur Center arranged the 2nd Guest lecturer for Mushroom Grower job role of Batch – 9 under Accenture - 12 on March 14, 2023. The topic for the above-mentioned session was “Mushroom- a vibrant rural economy booster”. The domain trainer Mr. Dillip Kumar Behera introduced and welcomed Mr. Swadhin Agarwal of Samleswari Mushroom Farm to deliver the knowledge session.

Mr. Swadhin at first drew the attention of trainees towards different types of mushrooms that are grown in different seasons of a year in our state and the factors affecting them. He extended the session by explaining various factors that affect the growth of mushroom cultivation such as climate, disease, etc. He also deliberated on different types of mushrooms that are most in demand and are popular in Odisha.

Thereafter the guest shifted his focus towards the role mushroom cultivation plays in shaping the rural economy and the opportunities it offers as an alternative livelihood earning option, particularly for marginalized rural unemployed youth. He furthered the discussion on the viability of becoming a successful entrepreneur by investing on the process and technique to build it brick by brick.

As the session was approaching towards end, the trainees shared their queries and the guest answered each of them with great patience, to the satisfaction of the trainees. He also projected a plan, which serves as a blueprint for initiating a start-up like mushroom cultivation. Trainees were more than enthusiastic and energetic throughout the session.

Mr. Swadhin summed up the session by thanking the trainees for a patient hearing. The session ended with a hearty thanks to Mr. Swadhin by Mr. Sarat Chandra Dash.
