On March 6th, 2023, Don Bosco Tech Chandigarh held an insightful and engaging guest lecture on HIV awareness specifically for the Associate Desktop Publishing (DTP) students. This pivotal session, led by Miss Akshita, a skilled GDA Trainer, marked a significant educational moment for the trainees. The gathering of approximately 28 students, along with two dedicated trainers, underscored the importance of the topic at hand.
The lecture began with a concise yet thorough introduction to HIV, shedding light on its impact on the immune system and the potential progression to AIDS in the absence of proper treatment. Miss Akshita emphasized the critical role of medical care in managing HIV and effectively dispelled prevalent misconceptions. She detailed the symptoms, explaining that while many may experience flu-like signs shortly after infection, others could remain asymptomatic, highlighting the essential need for testing to achieve an accurate diagnosis.
